In 1988 a taiko (drum) team was born in Osafune, Okayama Japan. In honor of the towns proud history as a heartland of fine quality sword production, the group took the name Meito Daiko, meaning "Famous Swords".

Today Meito Daiko perform at 30-50 events per year throughout west Japan.

Major achievements:
2010: (Feb) Concert "Kin Ujyo." (1300+ ppl.)
         (Sep) World Expo Shanghai performance.
2009: Peformed at Pan Pacific Festival in Hawaii.
2008: 20th Anniversary Concert sold out. (800+ ppl.)
2006: Pan Pacific Festival (Seventh visit.)
